Accountants are usually responsible for detecting fraud, but their specialist knowledge means they also have the means to commit it.

Dr Steven Dellaportas teaches the ethics of accounting at Deakin University, and he’s found an innovative way to warn students off unethical behaviour: taking them to jail.

Geoffrey Dunienuille is a final-year accounting student at Deakin, and last week he and his classmates went to prison to speak with inmates who are paying the price for white-collar crime.
